FACULTY- Anne Kateri Gelvoria-Cascario
Anne Kateri S. Gelvoria-Cascano started dancing in 1992 and from a young age, her talent and dedication to dance were evident. Her journey in the world of dance began when she was awarded a full scholarship by the NCAA in 1992, marking the start of a remarkable career.
Throughout her formative years, Anne continued to hone her skills, participating in the CCP Dance Summer Workshop on full scholarship for consecutive years from 1993 to 1995. Her dedication and passion for dance led her to receive another full scholarship, this time at the Christine Walsh Dance Centre in Melbourne, Australia, in 1997.
In 2002, Anne joined Ballet Manila as a Company Member, embarking on a decade-long chapter of her career. During her time with Ballet Manila, she showcased her versatility and artistry through an extensive repertoire of classical ballet performances. From iconic roles in timeless classics such as "The Nutcracker" (Russian Dance, Pas de Trois, Lead Rose Waltz, Snowflakes), "Le Corsaire" (Lead Bedouin, Seashore girl, Naila Waltz), "La Bayadere" (Shades, Parrot dance, Dzhritzi dance), "Swan Lake" (Swans, Princesses dance), "Giselle" (Lead Wilis, Friends, Peasant dance, Wilis), "La Fille Mal Gardee", "Tatlong Kwento ni Lola Basyang: Ang Kapatid ng Tatlong Marya" (Maria Trining-underwater queen), "The Swan, The Fairy and the Princess" (Little Swans, Lilac Fairy), "Don Quixote" (Tutu girl), "Esmeralda Pas de Six" (Esmeralda), to "Sleeping Beauty" (Lilac Fairy), Anne's talent shone brightly on stage.
Her dedication to the craft of dance extended beyond the confines of the stage, as Anne participated in numerous dance workshops and performances, including international tours to Aberdeen, Scotland, the United States of America, Russia, Taiwan, Korea, and Cambodia, as well as local tours across various cities in the Philippines.
Anne's contributions to the world of dance are marked not only by her exceptional skill and artistry but also by her unwavering commitment to her craft. Her performances, both on local and international stages, have left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide, inspiring admiration and applause wherever she goes.
As Anne continues to pursue her passion for dance, she remains a beacon of inspiration for aspiring dancers, demonstrating that with talent, hard work, and dedication, dreams can indeed take flight on the wings of artistry and perseverance.
